Operational Leader: Hope Horton
DOMAIN
- Develop and implement plans to educate and train current and prospective members, and oversee application and practice of Sociocracy at all levels of community governance.
AIMS
- Offer introductory and ongoing training for new and prospective members
- Provide a comprehensive handbook with descriptions, definitions, and applications of Sociocracy to Common Ground Ecovillage
- Support through training, reflection, and evaluation a community Sociocracy practice that is clear and consistent across all levels
- Troubleshoot and recommend solutions when implementation problems arise
- Serve as a resource/coach for members on the practice of sociocracy at various levels and functions of the community
- Offer advanced training, and/or identify experienced consultants to assist us with our implementation
- Identify and address gaps in our governance process, such as ensuring plan-implement-evaluate feedback loops, term limits, and role improvement feedback where appropriate
- Work with the Circle Administrator to develop a method to track and review proposals and nominations according to term limits
PRIORITIES (next review: January, 2017)
- Update our finalized Functional Circle domains, aims, and priorities for 2016 by February 1.
- Offer an introductory training session for all new and prospective members on January 30.
- Schedule additional training sessions as new membership requires.
- Update the handbooks and distribute to all members by February 1.
- Work with Circle Administrator to identify and track term limits for elections (by June 1)
- Determine how to achieve facilitation training for all interested members in ways that are do- able in terms of time, energy, and finances (by July 1, 2016)
