Open October 2026 Almanac

Open October 2026 Almanac

We become human by working together and helping one another.

–Paul Hawken

Common Ground Ecovillage aims to be an expression of the Great Turning, shifting from an industrial growth society to a life-sustaining human civilization.  Our Community life is based on sharing with—and caring for—each other to the best of our abilities and capacities.  And it’s not restricted to just a few members.  We are part of a greater network of people, volunteers, and organizations with shared values and needs who have come to know and support each other.

Hence this Almanac, revealing step-by-step what it takes to create and construct an agrarian ecovillage in this day and age—and the gifts in many forms that come along the way.  Invitations in October range from helping to harvest 5,000 pounds of sweet potatoes, cracking black walnuts from the land, enjoying a song circle, coming to Community meetings and potlucks, enrolling in Full Table CSA for the Cold Season, and celebrating the season of Samhain/All souls with food, fire, stories, and singing.

That’s a lot.  No need to do it all.  Just choose something that intrigues you, show up, and see how it lands—then keep coming back because your participation matters, and there is so much more to experience, learn, and contribute to here.  In this way, we come to know each other, care about each other, and perhaps even live together on the land when the time is right.

See you at Common Ground
